Happy Monday!
Safe to say, it’s been a week. Festival selection, a viral post, and a room full of Anthony’s. Let’s get into it.
AB Is Going To TIFF
Yeah…we’re still processing this.
Anthony’s Balls is officially screening at the Young Creators Showcase at TIFF Next Wave 2026. It’s wild to say this but it will be playing at the TIFF Lightbox on April 19th at 7:30 PM.
Full programming details and tickets for TIFF Members and Under-25 Free Passholders go on sale on March 25, and to the public on March 27.
We’re not only excited, but the whole AB team is honoured to have this opportunity and share our balls to the masses. Pinch us, but this is hilariously not a dream.
Balls Going Viral
On March 18th, Adrien randomly pulled a clip from our AB shoot. Just a dumb, throwaway moment where Steel asks if we’re shooting MOS, and I, as the assistant director, ask: “What’s MOS?” Listen, it was my first time being an AD, cut me some slack.
Adrien edits it, throws on a caption, and we post it. Four days later: 100,000+ views on Instagram. It’s still climbing, likes, shares, everything, and we’re riding that momentum straight into April.
Of course, this came at a perfect time because the day later we got to post about our TIFF selection and the views/likes didn’t stop! Sometimes the universe (algorithm) works in mysterious ways and again, we can’t believe this all happened within a few days of each other.
Anthony’s Coming Together
After weeks of promoting, we hosted an Anthony-only screening at CineCycle in Toronto.
Adrien handled designs, logistics, and made everything look legit (genuinely beast mode). I went down the rabbit hole, messaging every Anthony I could find across TMU, York, UofT, and Toronto accounts like 6ixBuzz, WaveRoom, and RTN.
We followed all the Anthony’s Instagram would let us and low and behold, they showed up.
On Saturday, March 21st, Adrien, myself, and a lot of our incredibly wonderful friends came to support and run the event with us. We had a gracious drink sponsor (Zamalek) send us drinks, we had name tags, cameras for content, and a well-crafted presentation that Adrien and I put together (you can find it below!). We had a pretty good turnout all things considered and it was a fantastic time.
The Anthony’s loved it, the film got some reviews, and it was the best use of free-will we’ve done in a long time.
What To Expect This Week
We’ve got a ton of content from the event, so expect more drops, more AB, and more momentum as we push toward April 19th at TIFF Lightbox.
This is all still a joke right? Right????
Have a great week ahead,
Pat and the Marquet Films team
