You are reading the very first piece of content on the Marquet Films newsletter page, isn’t that awesome? And before anyone says anything, yes, this is coming at you on a Friday - you can expect the regular scheduled letters starting Monday. We thought we’d do something nice, you know?
Let’s start with something simple for our first one, what the hell is a Marquet Films? We use the name across most of our content whether it’s short films, YouTube series’, social media content, and literally everything else. We really think of Marquet Films as an overarching title for pure cinematic entertainment.
We sometimes take ourselves seriously with titles such as 8 Ball and A Menina das Caixas, but really what we want is to make good f***ing movies. We’ve put a ton of effort into making films that really push the edge of human experience. I mean hell, we have a Korean War psychological thriller coming out, a single serving stalker film, and a short about Anthony’s testicles. Doesn’t that articulate the essence of what we’re trying to do?
Shoot. You weren’t supposed to know about those titles yet. Adrien’s gonna be pissed.
Whatever, we’re already this deep, I’ll just share some more. Adrien and I constantly think about what’s up next even if we already have new projects lining up. From a new film festival we’re planning to announce, to more comedy shorts, to…okay maybe that’s too much.
We’ve got a ton of stories to share about our experiences over the past three years and that’s exactly what you’ll find in the newsletters. We also welcome feedback so feel free to let Adrien or I know what we’re missing or if we should stop this entirely!
