We’re trying out a new format for the MF newsletter this week! Just quick updates about all that matters in the world of Marquet Films. This week, we’ve got songs about Anthony’s Balls, watching remastered films, and hickeys on foreheads (you won’t believe how that happened).

Anthony’s Balls: The Song?
That’s right folks. We’ve kept this under wraps, but here’s some early news for our subscribers…
Our talent friend (and actor), Blake H. Phillips has been working on a little tune based on our TIFF selected short film, Anthony’s Balls. Did I mention we premiered our short film at TIFF Next Wave?
We’ve had some exciting meetings this week and it looks like this idea might be coming to fruition so expect to see that in the near future!
Remastered Films Are So Goated
This week Adrien and I saw Speed Racer in 4K IMAX. I remember watching that masterpiece on a pirated CD sitting in the back of my parents car when I was 8 years old. Now watching it on the big screen was unbelievable. For Adrien, it was his first time seeing the film and it blew his socks off.
Adrien gave it a 4-star on Letterboxd, so you know that s*** was gas.
He also caught Fight Club, which was also remastered this week, and it really just confirms: seeing great films in cinemas still hits different. Especially now, when Gen Z is apparently leading theatre attendance. There’s hope guys!
Forehead Hickey?
If you’ve been keeping up with the Anthony’s Balls Instagram, you’ve probably seen the comedy sketches we’ve been making with the cast.
The morning after our TIFF Next Wave premiere, we got the boys together and shot a new batch (coming soon). More importantly, we came across a fake suction-cup penis…which naturally felt like a perfect prop. The possibilities became endless.
So, with about five minutes into prep, Blake stuck it to his forehead… and gave himself a hickey.
So when those sketches drop, keep an eye out for the purple mark, it’s in every single one. Thanks, Blake!
